The Galaxy J4 Core sports a 6-inch HD+ 720 x 1480 pixels display on the front which is a TFT LCD panel, a considerable upgrade from its predecessor, the J2 Core which had a qHD display. Under the hood, the Galaxy J4 Core houses a quad-core chip clocked at 1.4 GHz which is still unnamed, but given that it is a budget-centric device, we expect it to feature the Exynos 7270 SoC which was also found on the J2 Core. Sadly, there is just 1 GB of RAM onboard along with 16GB of internal storage but given that Android Go is not as resource hungry as native Android OS, along with the fact that it is a budget-oriented device, it seems sufficient for light tasks. Furthermore, there is a dedicated slot for micro SD cards up to 512 GB in order to expand storage. The rear of the J4 core houses a single 8MP camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and the front facing shooter is a 5MP unit also with the same f/2.2 aperture long with an LED flash on either side to aid with low-light capturing. The phone packs in a 3300mAh battery, which given the underpowered internals should ideally result in good battery life. There is support for 4G VoLTE, but do note that the Galaxy J4 core does not have a fingerprint scanner. As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy J4 Core will run Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box and while pricing and availability info haven’t been revealed yet, the smartphone has officially been listed on Samsung’s website which means the launch might take place sometime soon. Since the Galaxy J2 Core was launched at a price of Rs. 6000 INR, we expect the J4 Core to be priced slightly higher as it comes with marginally better specifications.
