Design and Display

The Honor 30 features a 6.53-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. It has a small punch-hole cutout on the top-left, as can be seen on most smartphones these days, for housing the front-facing camera. The phone comes in four color options: Neon Purple, Black, Green, and Silver.

Performance

At its core, the vanilla Honor 30 comes with an octa-core Kirin 985 chipset with Mali-G76 GPU, running under the hood, coupled with 6/8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage. To power the internals, the device has a 4000mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. Among other things, there is support for 5G (SA / NSA mode), dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC for connectivity, along with a USB 3.1  Type-C port and an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication.

Camera

In the camera department, the Honor 30 features a quad-camera setup on the rear, which includes a 40MP RYYB IMX600 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, along with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, an 8MP telephoto lens with f/3.4 aperture, OIS, and 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, 50x digital zoom, and a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, the phone comes with a single 32MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture, housed in the punch-hole cutout, for selfies.

Honor 30 Pro and Honor 30 Pro+

Design and Display

Both, the Honor 30 Pro and 30 Pro+ feature the same 6.57-inch OLED with QHD+ resolution. Unlike the vanilla model, the Pro variants get a 90Hz refresh rate and have a panel that is slightly curved towards the edges. Moreover, they come with an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication and also offer Gorilla Glass protection. Further, there is a punch-hole cutout on the top-left, similar to the vanilla model, to house the front-facing camera. The Honor 30 Pro shares the same color options as the regular Honor 30, whereas, the Honor 30 Pro+ comes in three different colorways, namely: Black, Silver, and Green.

Performance

Under the hood, the Honor 30 Pro and 30 Pro+ are powered by the Kirin 990 5G chipset, which is the latest offering from the company with the Mali-G76 GPU. Out of the two, the Pro comes with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage, whereas, the Pro+ gets 8/12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The storage on both models can be further expanded with a nanoSD card. Besides, the two phones come with the same 4000mAh battery with 40W fast charging to power the internals. However, the 30 Pro+ gets support for 27W fast reverse wireless charging, in addition. For connectivity, there is support for 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC. And the two phones come with an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication and have a USB 3.1  Type-C port.

Camera

For optics, the Honor 30 Pro and 30 Pro+ sport a triple-camera setup on the rear. The setup on the 30 Pro includes a 40MP (f/1.8 aperture) RYYB IMX600 sensor with a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP periscope lens with f/3.4 aperture, 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 50x digital zoom. On the other hand, the 30 Pro+ gets a 50MP RYYB IMX700 sensor with f/1.9 aperture, which is the same as the Huawei P40 Pro, accompanied with a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP periscope lens with f/3.4 aperture, 5x optical zoom, 50x digital zoom, and 10x hybrid zoom. Moving to the front, the two phones share the same dual-camera setup, housed within the punch-hole, which includes a 32MP (f/2.0) primary sensor and an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor.

Honor 30, 30 Pro, and 30 Pro+: Pricing and Availability

The Honor 30 is priced at CNY 2,999 (~ USD 424) for 6GB + 128GB, CNY 3,199 (~ USD 452) for 8GB + 128GB, and CNY 3,499 (~ USD 495) for 8GB + 256GB variant. On the other hand, the Pro comes in two configurations: 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB, priced at CNY 3,999 (~ USD 566) and CNY 4,399 (~ USD 622) respectively, and the Pro+ is also available in two configurations: 8GB+ 256GB and 12GB + 256GB, which cost CNY 4,999 (~ USD 707) and CNY 5,499 (~ USD 778) respectively. As for availability, all three models are up for pre-order in China starting today and will go on sale from April 21.
